Eco-Awareness for The Environment

Eco-Awareness for The Environment

Objective

The use of plastic is prevalent throughout the economy especially in food and drinks packaging. The management of Pantech is aware that the accumulation of plastic in the environment is a serious concern and initiated the environmental awareness cultivation to its staff. In collaboration with the organization of Tzu-Chi, the 1-day Eco-Awareness for The Environmental programme enables Pantech staff to learn basket and bag weaving using discarded 3-in-1 plastic drink packaging. Many Pantech staff were amazed how the usual thrown away plastic drink packaging can be transformed into lovely handbags.

During the 1-day Eco-Awareness for The Environmental programme, Pantech staff were also encouraged to reduce meat and dairy consumption by a few meals per week. By shifting to a more plant-based food is essential to combatting climate change. The industrial livestock production is a phenomenally wasteful, land-and-energy-hungry system of farming that devastates forests, soil, air and water pollution. This initiative is the simplest and cheapest thing Pantech staff can do to benefit the environment.
